5 Cars worth Placing on Your Bucket List

You’ve probably heard the saying, “it’s better to regret something you did than something you didn’t.” For car enthusiasts, that statement holds even truer. Instead of saying “I should have bought that car I wanted,” it’s better to say, “should, would, could.”

Unfortunately, life doesn’t always work out the way we want it to. We might get laid off or get into an accident—or even worse—two accidents in the same year (been there). That awesome sports/luxury vehicle you’ve had your eye on but couldn’t afford? Well now you can…sort. While everyone has their own list of dream cars they’d love to own someday, many can be quite costly and just not feasible for most people.

Every once in a while though, car companies make limited runs of some pretty awesome models that are worth waiting for and saving up the dough.

Here are five cars we’ve seen make their way to production that we think would be perfect on you’re (or anyone’s) bucket list:

5. Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 V-Spec II Nür

If it’s on a list of cars you’d like to own someday, there’s a good chance the Skyline is somewhere near the top. It may not be as well known as other sports/luxury vehicles such as Porsche or Ferrari, but this car is absolutely fantastic on its own. And when you add in things like Godzilla and Fast and Furious references? Well…the sky really is the limit with these bad boys. Fortunately, they’re finally getting some respect here in North America, or at least stateside.

4. Toyota 2000GT

While the 2000GT may not be as high-strung and nimble as later models like the Nissan GT-R or even older sports/luxury cars like the Jaguar E-Type, this car is definitely worth adding to your list above some others. For one thing, it’s rarer than most other cars on this list—only 351

were ever made—and it looks absolutely stunning both inside and out. It might not be Ferrari gorgeous but it sure is nice to look at. The added benefit here of course is that you’re able to get your hands on a true classic without breaking the bank (relatively).

3. Mazda Furai

Okay, the name is a little weird and they’re not exactly making this car anymore—one of only two ever made was destroyed in testing—so why should you put it on your list? Well, simply put: rarity. Uniqueness. Originality. Aesthetics. Even with all those factors factored in though, we still can’t forget about the sheer cool factor involved here either. This thing looks like its going 300 miles an hour even when standing still and has so much raw power under its hood that you’d think any attempt at driving it would be too dangerous to even think about. Plus there’s just something super sexy about seeing a classic design combined with state-of-the-art technology.

2. Audi Le Mans Quattro

Here’s a car that will probably be on a lot of people’s wait lists, not just because it’s from Audi but also because if you’re lucky enough to own one, the original buyer had the option of customizing with four different design packages—that typically range anywhere from $75,000-$150,000 each. And while old age may have made this one a bit less appealing in terms of price and rarity, there’s no denying how badass these cars look in person. They’re powerful too—being mid-engine supercars with all-wheel drive makes them pretty much unstoppable…or is that destructible? Either way, you slice it though, this thing looks seriously cool.

1. Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo

While not nearly as well known to the average car enthusiast, the S7 is pretty much a beast of a machine that isn’t afraid to show it too. With an incredible 500+ hp to its twin-turbo motor and top speeds in excess of 220 mph, this one might be at the top of your list if you’re looking for something to take drag racing on Saturday night or wanting to really impress all those folks out there cruising down main street with their little Corollas and Civics (just don’t shove it in their faces too much). You can expect to pay quite a bit for this one though—even used, these cars normally go anywhere from $250,000 to over $1 million.

Conclusion:

So there you have it, five cars that you should consider adding to your list of future purchases. There are literally thousands out there to choose from so naturally these aren’t the only ones worth owning, but they should be first on your list if you ever happen to come across them. And hey, who knows? Maybe one day you’ll actually make them your own.
