The death toll increased to 630
During the 24 hours since the fourth of April, the death rate escalated to 630, an all-time high up to an exact 3,565, which has increased from 2,935 on the morning of Friday last. Andrew Cuomo, the Governor of New York City, cited these figures.

Cuomo cites Coronavirus may reach the apex
The Governor cited that the corona pandemic might reach its apex in New York if lockdown guidelines are not taken seriously. However, data shows two successive days of a dip in corona hospitalization incidents, daily intubations, and ICU admissions. These are positive signs and might indicate a probable flattening of the corona curve,
The falling rate of COVID-19 spread will not continue if people do not maintain social distancing. Non-essential business and schools will remain closed until April 29, 2020. Cuomo also cited that he would be imposing high fines or penalties for those defying lockdown and social distancing guidelines. The highest fine amount as of now is $1,000.
Stringent measures are required to check the deadly Coronavirus and its spread. New York lost four Indian nationals, and if not controlled, this number might increase in the days to come. Therefore, social distancing is the only solution to the pandemic.
