How not to design your home?
|A citizen of Tübingen in Germany has recently found out that his house was design by an architect who took liberties when drawing up the plans for this student residence. The old saying ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ applies well to this case.
Here is How not to design your home:
The exterior wall, decorated with windows and doors in all sorts of shapes, has created much amusement on the internet. Some are joking that “the architect must have been drunk.”
These strange, almost surreal design aren’t the only unusual feature of this building. There’s also a fireplace with an oven in one corner…
The staircase is next to the wall, where one door opens to nowhere! This corner of the house is also particularly attractive.
The kitchen is next to the fireplace…
- And here’s what you see when taking a shower! Anyone for brunch? The final touch comes with this bathroom window overlooking the dining room. And this tree growing out of one corner of the house! However, it must be said that despite all these unusual design the house does seem to be quite practical and comfortable.
- The house is located next to the famous Tübingen castle, surrounded by the picturesque old quarter of this medieval university town in Baden-Württemberg, southern Germany. According to local press reports, all these surreal elements were created by an architect who was using a 3D computer program to draw up plans.
- “These pictures are from a project for a student residence in Tübingen, southern Germany,” explained the Reddit user, who posted these photos on Reddit’s “Aww” section under the name The_Glass_Goose.
- The architect had used a 3D computer program to display his plans so he could show his clients what the finished house would look like. He tried to produce a homogenous architectural style by combining several antique or modern styles. In so doing, he managed to create a pleasantly playful, surreal effect in this student residence.
- The final result is certainly different from anything else you see when visiting Tübingen! The architect in question clearly isn’t the only one in the world with a sense of humor!
